Ascend Threatens Legal Action Against Unauthorized Use of Artist Information and Privacy Breaches

Ascend (ASND), the management company for former Red Velvet member Wendy and girl group fromis_9, has taken a firm stance against privacy violations of their artists.

On the 15th, Ascend released a statement through their official channels addressing recent incidents that have jeopardized their artists' safety and privacy. "We implore everyone to help cultivate a positive fan culture that respects our artists' rights and ensures their well-being," the company stated.

The agency urged fans to refrain from approaching artists or their vehicles to deliver gifts or letters, obstructing vehicle movement, or engaging in any behavior that could compromise the safety of the artists or others.

Ascend also emphasized the importance of respecting their artists' privacy. They discouraged unauthorized access to personal spaces, interference with private schedules, illegal acquisition or trade of artists' information, and loitering or trespassing near company premises.

The company stressed that they are prepared to pursue legal action against those who illegally use artists' personal information, persistently loiter around company property, or engage in unauthorized entry.

"We deeply appreciate the continued interest and support for our artists," Ascend concluded. "We remain committed to safeguarding their safety and rights to the best of our ability."

Wendy, who debuted with Red Velvet in 2014, has since expanded her career as a successful solo artist. Meanwhile, fromis_9, which debuted under Ascend in 2018, has solidified its status as a global K-pop sensation following their successful Japanese market entry in April of this year.
