Tinseltown's hottest duo, Tom Holland and Zendaya, are ruling the box office. The newlyweds are captivating audiences with their concurrent appearances in "Odyssey" and "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" (hereafter "Spider-Man 4").
"Spider-Man 4" kicked it all off. The pair first sparked chemistry as Peter Parker and MJ in 2016's "Spider-Man: Homecoming." Their on-screen connection blossomed into real-life romance, going public in 2021, followed by a 2024 engagement and this year's nuptials. Now, they're back as Peter and MJ, successfully launching the franchise's latest chapter.
"Spider-Man 4" follows Peter Parker, wiped from everyone's memory after "No Way Home." He faces a mysterious foe who remembers his identity while grappling with uncontrollable powers from a DNA mutation. In this action-packed blockbuster, Peter fights new threats to protect his loved ones.
The Korean Film Council reports "Spider-Man 4" drew 237,918 viewers on the 6th, totaling 4,647,270 admissions. While impressive domestically, its global performance is staggering, surpassing $1.1 billion (approximately 1.56 trillion KRW) worldwide.

Hot on its heels, "Odyssey" has crossed the $1 billion (approximately 1.42 trillion KRW) mark globally. Helmed by cinematic virtuoso Christopher Nolan, the film stars Holland as Telemachus, Odysseus' son, with Zendaya as Athena, goddess of wisdom, anchoring the epic tale.
"Odyssey" debuted on the 5th, drawing 291,353 viewers its first day, ranking third behind "Spider-Man 4" and "Hope." By day two, it leapt to the top spot with 245,973 admissions, edging out "Spider-Man 4's" 237,783. Its two-day total hit 539,693 viewers.
Based on Homer's classic, "Odyssey" chronicles hero Odysseus' tumultuous journey home post-Trojan War. Its release has intensified the box office battle, with "Spider-Man 4" seeing its first sub-200,000 daily viewer count.

Despite the fierce competition, Holland and Zendaya are all smiles. Their films have attracted over 5 million viewers in Korea alone, amassing a staggering $2.1 billion (approximately 2.98 trillion KRW) globally.
With their hectic press tours behind them, the couple is taking a well-deserved break to enjoy newlywed bliss. People magazine reports they celebrated their union on the 4th with an intimate party at a lavish five-star country estate in Surrey, England.
