Lee Min, former member of As One, passes away at 46, just two months after career comeback

One year has passed since the untimely death of Lee Min (born Lee Min-young), a member of the female R&B duo 'As One'.

Lee was found deceased at her residence on August 5 last year. She was 46 years old.

Brand New Music, Lee's agency, announced her passing with deep sorrow, stating that her family and the entire staff were devastated by the sudden loss. The company postponed scheduled music releases from their artists as a gesture of respect.

The family began receiving mourners at the funeral home on August 7, two days after her death. Fellow entertainers who had worked with Lee came to pay their final respects. Crystal, Lee's As One bandmate who was living in the U.S., promptly returned to Korea to bid farewell to her longtime collaborator.

Yoon Il-sang, who composed As One's debut single, shared a poignant tribute: "I'll always remember your uniquely beautiful voice. It was always a joy to work with you." Singer Kim Hyun-sung expressed his regret, saying, "She was truly a wonderful person. I wish I hadn't hesitated to reach out. I already miss her smile and laughter."

Lee Min, a second-generation Korean American, formed As One with Crystal after meeting at a Korean church. The duo debuted in 1999 with their album 'Day By Day' and gained popularity with hits like 'Cheonmaneyo' and 'Wonhago Wonmanghajyo'.

Just two months before her passing, Lee had made a comeback with the release of 'Happy Birthday' in June. She also appeared on KBS2's 'Park Bo-gum's Cantabile', reconnecting with fans after a long hiatus. Lee was reportedly considering a full return to the music scene, including plans for a U.S. performance, making the news of her sudden death all the more shocking to her devoted fanbase.
