BTS's fifth studio album, 'Arirang'​, has been hailed as one of the UK's most successful albums in the first half of this year.

On July 16th, the UK Official Charts unveiled their 'Official Biggest Albums of 2023 So Far' list. This ranking combines physical album sales, digital downloads, and audio/video streaming data from January to present.

BTS's 'Arirang' secured an impressive 20th place. Among this year's new releases, only six acts made the cut, including BTS, Drake, Harry Styles, and Olivia Rodrigo.

'Arirang' has been a chart powerhouse since its debut at No. 1 on the UK's 'Official Albums Top 100'. Its popularity surged following BTS's recent world tour stop at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, jumping 16 spots to No. 21. The Official Charts dubbed it "the most successful K-pop project in the UK so far in 2023."

In the latest rankings, 'Arirang' continues its hot streak, landing at No. 35 on the 'Official Albums Top 100' for its 17th consecutive week. The album's reach extends across multiple charts, including 'Official Album Streaming', 'Official Vinyl Album', 'Official Album Sales', and 'Official Physical Album'. The title track 'SWIM' has also made a comeback on the physical singles chart.

On Spotify, 'Arirang' has held strong at No. 2 on the 'Weekly Top Albums Global' chart for five weeks running.

BTS has dominated this chart for 17 weeks, alternating between first and second place, and claiming the top spot a record-breaking nine times this year. Five tracks from the album - 'SWIM', 'Body to Body', '2.0', 'Hooligan', and 'Come Over' - have all graced the weekly song chart.

The Korean version of 'NORMAL', released on the 17th, is already making waves globally. As of 9 AM on the 18th, it topped iTunes 'Top Songs' charts in 69 countries and regions, including the US, UK, Germany, and Brazil.

BTS will wrap up their European tour at Paris's Stade de France on July 17-18 before jetting off to the US. There, they're set to headline the halftime show at the '2023 FIFA North and Central America World Cup' final on the 19th.
